With the population of safety professionals growing older, plus downsizing and early retirement setting in, a new generation of safety professionals is joining our ranks. Their arrival is a welcome one and a cause for reflection. How do the challenges they face in the 21st century compare with those of their predecessors over the past few decades? Quite different, given workforce trends. Safety professionals today will confront generational and cultural differences markedly different from those of the past.
