Because of its effect on the climate change, carbon dioxide capture and sequestration (CCS) technologies have become one of the most important global concerns. It is generally accepted that the most appropriate method that can be used today is to absorb carbon dioxide from gas mixtures into aqueous amine solutions [1]. Although, CO2-aqueous amine process is accepted as a mature technology, it has many inherent drawbacks such as low absorption capacity, degradation, corrosion and especially high energy needs for solvent regeneration. Therefore, the developments of new solvents that can capture CO2 efficiently, reversibly, cost-effectively and environmentally benign have gained importance.
