1. A crude oil fouling model has been proposed. The molecular modelling has been performed to predict the thermo-physical properties and phase equilibrium parameters. 2. CFD model has been validated against the experimental data on HiPOR and rotating fouling reactor 3. 3D CFD simulations of fouling in a heat exchanger tube were performed accounting for: deposition (reaction- and precipitation-driven), removal, aging, and heat transfer. 4. Antagonistic competition between reaction- and precipitation-driven fouling examined: suggest possible mitigation strategies that by strengthening or weakening interphase heat transfer appropriately the chemical fouling rate could be substantially reduced while only slightly increasing the precipitation rate
