Order-Delivery Process in Manufacturing Network Deploying Manufacturing Philosophies in the Steel Product Industry

The purpose of this paper is to present the steel product industry network in the Raahe region of Finland. It is done in terms of its activities and modes of supply chain operations, based on customer-oriented operation modes. However, the purpose is to analyze the relationship to the manufacturing development concepts, such as agility, flexibility and leanness. The critical issues and major drawbacks of supply chain are identified and illustrated by following one sample order-delivery process through its value chain.
