The electrochemical properties and hydrogen storage performance of Ti_(0.45)Zr_(0.55)Ni_(0.85)V_(0.45)Mn_x (x = 0.1, 0.18, 0.23, 0.33, and 0.53) and Ti_(0.45)Zr_(0.55)Ni_(0.7)V_(0.45)Mn_x (x = 0.08, 0.35, 0.71, 0.9, 1.15 and 1.33) alloys with a different amount of nickel and manganese were investigated. The equilibrium hydrogen pressure of alloys increased as the amount of manganese increased. All of these alloys were found to have a single phase with a C14 Laves phase structure by x-ray diffraction analysis and electronic microscopy. The relationship between discharge performance, the equilibrium hydrogen pressure of alloys and alloy's lattice parameters is also discussed. The Ti_(0.45)Zr_(0.55)Ni_(0.85)V_(0.45)Mn_(0.23) alloy with a nonstoichiometric composition has0.55 a maximum discharge capacity (363 mAh/g with the discharge current density 100 mA/g).
