New ternary hydride has been synthesised in the reaction of hydrogen with intermetallic Mg_2Eu compound of MgZn_2 structure type with hydrogen content of 5.0-5.5 g-at/mol IMC. Mg_2EuH_(5.5) (a = 5.344(3) A; c = 8.014(4) A; P4/nmm space group, Z=2) conceivably has Cu_2Sb structure type, so the parameters of heavy atoms were determined and the model of hydrogen atoms arrangement was proposed.
