The high complexity of the interplaying physical and chemical phenomena occurring in diesel combustion has brought an increasing interest versus experimental and computational fundamental studies. A relevant contribution to the availability of suitable and accessible experimental data is represented by the Engine Combustion Network database, which are of great interest for model development and validation because of the well-defined boundary conditions and the wide range of conditions employed.
