We report on the performance of large-grain Gd-Ba-Cu-O bulk superconductors. Employing fine Gd-211 powder as a Starting material remarkably reduced the size of 211 particles dispersed in the Gd-123, matrix, leading to a dramatic enhancement of the critical current density and field trapping ability. The trapped magnetic field of single-grain Gd-Ba-Cu-O/Ag bulk 50 mm in diameter reached 2.6 T at 77 K. Furthermore, the trapped field was 3.5 Tat 77 K when it was measured between two large bulk samples in order to Minimize the demagnetizing effect
