Influence of the Decentralized Algorithms on Topology Evolution in P2P Distributed Networks

P2P-networks become more and more interesting not only because of the emergence of file sharing systems like Gnutella. Such decentralized systems have a lot of advantages compared to centralized client-server systems. The organization of reliable topological structures of such networks is a central issue for normal operations and effective information search. However, the application of the centralized running algorithms for the network management is no more possible in P2P web communities, since a complete structure representation of big, dynamic communities is almost impossible. In this paper we emphasize that even local working algorithms can be derived and significantly influence the global organization of the community. For doing so, we propose content and traffic oriented methods in this contribution and intend to show their efficiency through a simulation and the respective results.
