Escaping energetic ions were measured by a scintilator-type probe on LHD during the 4th campaign. We came to settlements of a problem about a measurement method on SC devices in large scale fusion devices. A scintilator-type probe tip will be inserted by diverter legs on LHD in the next campaign and these results and experiences will be useful for designing the measurement system on ITER. Spatial distributions measurement of escaping energetic ions using ceramic scintilators was proposed. We will study the feasibility of this concept in detail by an accelerator and LHD.
