The results obtained with IR radiometer on the T-1 1M tokamak with lithium limiter were found to be quite useful for the evaluation of the following parameters: 1. Surface temperature evolution of a limiter or a divertor plate; 2. Specific thermal flux to the limiter or divertor surface; 3. Electron temperature in the vicinity of a limiter or divertor surface. The IR radiometer provides an opportunity for the quantitative studies of MHD-related plasma-wall interaction events, e.g. a disruptive instability or ELM activities in the H-mode. The response time of the device could be improved to the detector limit ~10 μsec with the replacement of preamplifier by more fast one. Further enhancement in both temporal and spatial resolution could be achieved by the application of CdHgTe photodiode array with ~ 1 μsec response required for studying the localisation of power deposition to the limiter surface during the development of disruptive instability.
