THE INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL CONCEPTS IN AUTONOMOUS AND TELEOPERATED SYSTEMS (IECAT) PROJECT AT UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at Utah State University (USU) is a participant in IECAT, Innovative Educational Concepts in Autonomous and Teleoperated Systems, an international program funded by organizations from both the U.S. and the E.U. Utah State has teamed with Ohio University and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs within the U.S. and Fachhochschule Ravensburg-Wiengarten, Germany, Helsinki University of Technology, Finland, and Universidad Carlos III, Spain to develop a virtual engineering teaching laboratory over the internet. USU intends on integrating laboratory exercises developed by the other universities within our curriculum and evaluate their educational impact to our students. USU will contribute access to an experimental satellite attitude control laboratory for use by the other schools to use over the internet. Further, international student and faculty exchanges between universities will be supported.
