In this paper, EFIE is used to get the strict and accurate radiation pattern, when the wire antenna is placed near a large conducting plane. In the solving proceeding, the fast multipole method (FMM) is used to perform the matrix-vector products and accelerate the solution of the linear system. Numerical computing tests show that the FMM, which combines Preconditioned Conjugate Gradients (PCG) method and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and post-iteration, is an effective technique in solving the large-scale EM problems.
