This paper Introduces the single phase watt-hour metering chip AT73C550 which not only simultaneously measures various power network parameters such as active power and energy, voltage, current, frequency and using time, but also performs digital calibration on measurements. With low power consumption, fast conversion and high accuracy, the chip provides an excellent solution for single phase watt-hour metering. Also given in this paper is the interface circuit between 550 chip and micro-chip which has been used in the practical work.
