STUDY OF CERIUM CONVERSION COATINGS ON ZINC

摘要

Cerium conversion films were obtained on the surface of zinc by the chemical conversion treating process. Influence of the cerium salt concentration, bath temperature and treating time on the anti-corrosion efficiency of the conversion film was studied. Corrosion resistance of the conversion films was determined with dripping PbAC_2 test, weight loss test and electrochemical test. The surface morphology, composition and phase constituent of specimens were examined by means of SEM, EDAX and XRD. Mechanism of corrosion resistance of conversion film was discussed.
