Improvement of surveillance/tracking radar systems performance requires use of phased array antennas and coherent sounding signals. However, ordinary phased array radar structure leads to significant extension of signal processing hardware. This paper presents principles of phased array radar with channels code separation and coded pulse phase-shifted signals. Use of phased arrays with parallel space surveillance by multiple beams provides: improved noise/interference immunity (due to coded pulse length extended up to coherence time of target); extended targets tracking capabilities due to continuous targets data acquisition; better radar image quality in conditions of fast targets and radar carrier relative maneuvring.
