THE TIVOLI-ROME AC TRANSMISSION LINE - JULY 4th 1892

The realisation, as an industrial enterprise, of the first electric high voltage transmission in the world was a break through in the electricity development. This was also the proof of the confidence of the Italian entrepreneurs in opportunities offered by science and technique. This confidence was fully paid. The design was successful and the line was put in service without problems and was demolished for upgrading reasons after eight years of efficient operation. The cooperation between Hungarian and Italian scientists was an example bf the open view of the project management and an anticipation of the European spirit.
