For many years, the general public was not particularly concerned about food animal production practices. Simply put, most people wanted a plentiful supply of meat, milk and eggs, and their primary concern was that these products were tasty and cheap. In a sense, the animal industry has kept its promise by delivering some of the highest quality products to the public at astoundingly low prices - prices so low that even poor people can enjoy a bountiful supply of ham and eggs.
