摘要

In this study, effect of next generation organic friction modifiers, which is different from the classical organic friction modifiers commonly used in engine oils, is being evaluated. The next generation organic friction modifiers possesses a characteristic polymeric structure and achieves unique friction reduction not only at steel-steel contact, but also at various DLC surface contact as well as DLC - steel contact. At the same time, a characteristic wear reduction at those contact surfaces has been observed. Findings made in the series of low viscosity engine oils is reported in this study.
