FORECASTING FOREIGN COTTON PRODUCTION: THE CASE OFINDIA, PAKISTAN AND AUSTRALIA

摘要

The objective of this study is to identify, analyze and measure the causes of cotton production variations in India, Pakistanand Australia. Cotton yield and acreage models are estimated for each country using 30 to 40 years of data. Updatedestimates of the degree of responsiveness of cotton yield and planted areas to changes in economic and climatic factors, andof the current yield and acreage trends in these three countries are provided.
