People living in developed modern society are concerning about the improvement of life quality for their health. Especially, modern people spend most of their time indoors. Therefore, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) becomes a hot issue lately. Yellow sand dust from China and pollen make indoor/outdoor life of Korean people difficult recently. This makes them need air cleaners, so that a lot of cleaners are sold and new ones have been developed lately. We developed a cartridge filter combining a dielectric filter with an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) for giving an air cleaning function to a conventional air conditioner. This may be also applied to an air-cleaner itself. When a conventional fibrous filter is applied to the air conditioner, the severe obstructive problem is caused by the pressure drop through the filter that should be under a level not reducing the cooling capability of the air conditioner. Therefore, we need an air-cleaning filter with low pressure drop for the air conditioner.
