Emerging and developing technologies using these "tools" of chemical modification can establish soy as a major platform that will drive the development of future renewable and sustainable materials for various industrial applications. A close collaboration between academic and industrial research centers in conjunction with a good understanding of market needs is absolutely vital and necessary to expand the use of soy-based materials into more industries.
