Two-dimensional (2D) woven carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide matrix composites (C/SiC) were prepared by a low-pressure chemical vapor infiltration method. The thermal shock behavior of a 2D SiC was investigated using a quenched method. Damage to composites was assessed by fracture strength and real-time acoustic emission (AE). The results showed that: 2D-C/SiC composites had an excellent thermal shock resistance. The thermal shock damage to C/SiC composites mainly occurred at the process of cooling and was limited at argon. And the mainly damage mechanics of C/SiC composites during thermal shock in argon atmosphere was matrix crack.
