The destruction of the concrete due to frost and de-icing salt attack creates a great problem of the building facility maintenance. Influence on frost resistance can indeed be taken concrete technologically, e.g. by entrained air voids. As a result of this the freezing processes and its influencing possibilities should be examined further. In present contribution, the influence of the hydrophobic character of a surface was examined. The freezing temperature rises with an increasing hydrophobic surface. Furthermore, the influence of Ionic and non-Ionic solutions on the fusing temperature is examined in porous materials. Here, it is observed that the solutions and the surfaces have an influence on the fusing temperature. The attempt of ice formation germs represents a further possibility to influence the freezing temperatures. The results show a support of phase change due to cholesterol.
