The orbital evolution of two PAGEOS fragments (1966-56-00 and 1966-56-99) was monitored along the December 1979 ― March 1982 interval. Discontinuities in the evolution of the orbital parameters of both satellites, corresponding to the epoch MJD 44709 (15 April 1981), were pointed out. These discontinuities are related to the high level solar and geomagnetic activities during the respective period. Solar active phenomena generated by some very complex regions produced a lot of disturbances in the terrestrial magnetosphere. An evaluation of the whole complex of solar and geomagnetic phenomena affecting the orbital parameters of the satellites is made.
