A customized, turn-key modernisation of two vacuum blowers is presented. The TS 680A vacuum blowers have been designed at the Institute of Turbomachinery, TU Lodz and are working in one of the Polish paper plants. Application of the vacuum blowers at the paper machines is first contrasted with the alternative usage of air pumps. Original design of the TS 680A vacuum blowers is then presented together with the customer's requirements for their modernisation. Fundamentals of the modernisation approach are discussed and the final scope of the technical actions is described. Acceptance tests are briefed and the customer's benefits are commented.
