The additives used had the expected incidence in the process at laboratory and pilot plant, increasing the particle size, accelerating the asphaltenes precipitation. The optimum concentration of additive to be injected is 1% according to laboratory results. The results showed a decrease of 30-60% of the mass of asphaltenes in current top of the decanter by adding additive, ensuring a reduction in accumulating in the equipment, and better performance in separating. As the C5H9NO presents a high cost, should be determine the appropriate composition of the blend Asphaltene-C5H9NO optimal for the plant.
