Determination of Success Probability of Fire Department Intervention for a Building Fire

In this study quantitative risk analysis is used to assess fire safety of a building designed using performance-based methods. Simple mathematical models were adapted for fire department actions. They were verified using statistical data covering structural fires in Finland during 1994 -1997. The examples described here were inspired from a real building constructed but our calculations are not a part of the official documentation of the building. Despite that, these calculation methods are proposed for general design use in Finland.
