Acceptable Risk in Assessment of Prestressed Concrete Roof Girders

Inspections and control measurements of existing structures are usually restricted due to service limitations. On the other hand, proper assessment of the real state of structure, particularly after long time of use in various conditions, requires detailed approach to control procedure. The problem of safety assessment with acceptable risk is especially difficult when prestressed concrete structures are considered. The proposal of compromising solution is presented on the basis of analysis of case studies for post-tensioned roof girders.
