Implications of acquisitions and mergers on the it network

摘要

This paper discusses the issues facing organisations embarking upon the Merger and Acquisition journey; more often than not the business benefits cloud the work to be performed technically to ensure business continuity. The paper will consider the business merger and the technical merger, with more emphasis on technical issues, and highlight a potential solution to IT integration. This paper will cover technical issues such as the corporate data network, multiple network protocols and operating systems, and the deployment of additional applications to new machines; all with the underlying need to streamline the organisation.
