Understanding and managing assets in national grid

摘要

This paper describes how a major utility is proactively managing dispersed assets in a regulated environment. Some of tools and methods adopted are discussed including influencing diagrams, the choice of data, decision support tools and condition monitoring. The issue of risk is examined, and some methods for integrating management of risk into the business described. Collecting and using information at the point of work is seen as the next logical step to be incorporated into the way of working.
