Remote cost estimation of machined parts

摘要

Cost estimation of machined parts is a curial activity in the business cycle of manufacturing firms. Cost estimation, similar to process planning, requires high level of manufacturing expertise, familiarity with the manufacturing resources and consumes considerable resources. The system presented in this paper performs cost estimation for manufacturing customers and design organizations that need the cost feedback. The communication among the various functions of the system relies on the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to this service.
