A monitor system for machine tools- applications

The mechatronic Systems consist of the five types of the subsystems: mechanism, actuators, sensors, computers and energy sources. These subsystems can be precisely defined onto the CNC machine tools. The paper presents these subsystems (Fig. 1) with stressing on the connection to the CNC systems reflecting the cutting process monitor system (detection of tool breakage, tool wear and machine collision). There are presented the applications of the monitoring systems at an older horizontal boring machine SCHARMANN, at the special tool machine, at the new machining centre MANDELLI, at the grinding machine, etc. made in the Czech republic, the Slovak republic and Hungary as well.
