In this paper the possibilities of applying magnetic in-plane fields at the specimen location in a Philips CM30 Twin/Lorentz transmission electron microscope are described. A new developed specimen holder in combination with a custom made software package enables us to run static and dynamic processes in any direction and with a magnetic field up to 5.2 kA/m (65 Oe). First experiments on nanostructured magnetic elements are presented to demonstrate the new possibilities.
