摘要

The purpose of this study is to characterize the internal physical properties of Korean red ginsengs using magnetic resonance techniques. Korean red ginseng is the most valuable product among ginseng products. Current external visual inspection cannot determine good or bad red ginseng successfully. Relaxation time constants were measured using various grades of red ginsengs. Internal imaging information was obtained nondestructively from normal and abnormal red ginsengs using a MRI system. Solid state imaging technique was used to image dried red ginsengs. Various types of internal defects were visualized. MR techniques suggested ways to detect internal defects of red ginsengs effectively.
