The tire engineer's aim is to continuously improve tire performance, with a view to optimising vehicle overall performance. Work on tires has been conducted by Michelin engineers to determine their ideal operating conditions. This approach led them to investigate an innovative development of current suspension systems and to imagine the "Optimised Contact Patch" System. This "Optimised Contact Patch" System is a passive system which provides a negative camber directly linked to the lateral force supplied by the tire when cornering.
