Simulation model for hotel occupancy rate in gold coast using GPSS

A GPSS simulation model to analyze alternate policies that influence Gold Coast's hotel occupancy rate is developed in this study. Published data form a report is used to define probability distribution for the domestic and international tourist arrival. The expected accommodation demand distribution and other stochastic parameters for the GPSS simulation model is derived from the data available from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The paper presents modeling concept and analysis of hotel occupancy rate. Different scenarios are evaluated for policy analysis. A hypothesis is formulated to test the significant difference between alternative policies under considerations.
