The purpose of this paper is to model state surfaces of unsaturated soils. The state surfaces have to be formulated to analyze exactly the elastoplastic volume change of unsaturated soils. The shape of state surface depends on the type of soils. A model that could express any kind of shapes of the state surfaces was proposed. The model was applied to express the state surfaces of three kinds of soils, clayey silt, silt and silty sand. The values estimated by the model were well consistent with the experimental ones. The model is applicable to express any kinds of state surfaces.
