This paper will present the latest applications and developments in RIM skin technology.RIM skin is a processing technology utilized to produce soft automotive interiors;instrument panels,door panels,and armrests.It is a process whereby a PU skin is typically injected into a closed mold,then backfilled with PU foam.The inherent benefits include a PVC free solution,control of wall thickness,and an aesthetically pleasing soft-touch with uniform grains across the entire part.
