Terrestrial life utilizes only the L enantiomers of amino acids;that is known as the homochirality of life.The optical resolution of one specific enantiomer from others is potentially in demand for the production of pharmaceuticals and food products.Membrane processes have the advantages of large-scale separation,energysaving technique and easy operation of the processes.In our previous study ultrafiltration experiments for the optical resolution of racemic amino acids were performed in a solution system and membrane systems using albumin as chiral recognition sites.
