摘要

Solution chlorinated polyethylene (SCPE) offers a cheap,synthetically easy alternative to poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC).It is made from chaep,commonly available feed stocks and also overcomes the problems of handling a carcinogenic monomer.It also offers the possibility of tailoring its final physical properties by using a different initial polyethylene (PE) e.g.branched or linear and/or different levels of chlorination.Furthermore,it is also able to avoid crystallite formation common to PVC that can cause problems in processing.
