Effects of blending time and composition of the ester exchange reactions of poly(trimethylene terephthalate)/poly(ethylene naphthalate) blends

The blends of polyesters containing aromatic units,such as poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET),poly(buthylene terephthalte)(PBT),and poly(ethylene naphthalate)(PEN) have been widely investigated to obtain good balance of properties and processibilities.In these polyester blends the ester exchange reaction has a significant effect on resultant properties.In general,the degree of the ester exchange reaction is primarily controlled by the blending time and temperature rather than composition.
