Lightly cross-linked silicone elastomers have been utilized as effective delivery systems for active ingredientssuch vitamins,fragrances,and pharmaceuticals.Functional groups can be attached to the siloxane chain prior to cross-linking to modify the material properties.Also,the cross-link density and non-volatile content of the material can greatly modify performance.
