Porous Inorganic-Organic Shape Memory Polymers

Thermoresponsive shape memory polymers (SMPs) are “smart” materials whose shape is modulated by thermal changes. In a typical SMP system, the “netpoints” are chemical or physical crosslinks that determine the permanent shape. The “switching segments” modulate the shape transition through intrinsic thermal transition (Ttrans) which may be a glass transition (T_g) or melt transition (T_m).
