Magnetic nanoparticles (NPs) are increasingly studied for its applications in the field of biomedicine with varied applications such as MRI contrast enhancement, hyperthermia treatments, drug delivery and targeting, protein detection and purification. The ability to control and manipulate magnetic particles by a remote magnetic force offers unique status to such NPs in terms of the above applications which would benefit by the transport and retention of magnetism in the targeted region of the body., Moreover, these particles respond to a time-varying magnetic field, a property that is highly desirable for one of the promising approaches to cancer therapy, namely hyperthermia treatment.
