Metal-containing polymers have achieved much attention as the systems comprising multiple functional moieties. They exhibit unique electronic, optical, mechanical and magnetic properties and have been largely used as metal complex catalysts for varied reactions, sensors, and coatings, as precursors for obtaining metallopolymer nanocomposites, etc. Earlier we have elaborated a single-stage method to the synthesis of metal-containing polymers via polymerization or copolymerization of metal-containing monomers (MCM) [1]. Also it was shown that thermal transformations of the MCM result in the formation of metal (or its oxides) nanoparticles stabilized by a polymer matrix [2-4]. In this work we report on the study of metal-containing polymers and nanocomposites, their characterization and properties.
