Hyperbranched polymers(HBPs)have a unique viscosity profile and reduced mechanical properties,due to their relatively few chain entanglements.There are many potential applications of hyperbranched polymers because of the ability to modify their terminal groups [1].So far there are few commercially available HBPs,among them Perstop's Boltorn.These hyperbranched polyester polyols have been successfully applied in some industry products such as adhesives and coatings [2].Modified Boltorns have also been shown to have potential application for formulating low shrinkage dental restoratives [3,4].
