The current measured on a coupon approximating the size of a coating holiday indicates the induced alternating current (AC) current density on a buried pipeline. Although the thresholds for concern are generally based on specific levels, the actual induced current density from a collocated high voltage alternating current (HVAC) transmission line varies considerably with time. Coupon field data from numerous pipeline sections will be presented and analyzed. Keywords: HVAC interference, collocated pipelines, AC current density, coating holidays, coupons
