In this study, field efficiency and cost of plowing (3-bottom plow) and disking (28-plate) with conventional tractors (U650, MF285) in Kermanshah region was investigated.Tractor drivers (could have been owner as well) filled out a questionnaire beforehe started the operation and some of the parameters were measured while operating such as forward speed. The field efficiency, field capacity and cost of operations were determined. Range of the field efficiency for plowing was 36-75 % but for the filedhigher than four hectare was the same. For the disking, the range of field efficiency was 50-75 %. The values were lower than the values presented by ASAE standards. Cost per hectare for plowing and disking was 32988 Rials and 8297 Rials respectively (1= 8000 Rials). The investment cost (51.2 %) had the highest share in cost of repair and maintenance for tractor.If annual usage of tractor is between 900-1560 hours then, the cost index of fixed cost is about 49 % of total cost of tractor.
