PROMOTION OF TECHNOLOGICAL TRANSFER TO THAI FARMERS IN THE CENTRAL PLAIN

摘要

The Institute of Technology for Rural Development (ITRD), Chulalongkorn University (CU) has launched a research program of Promotion of Technological Transfer to Thai Farmers in the Central Plain. This project aims to transfer agricultural technologyto grass root people in rural areas of Thailand. The project develop a computer network called 'Rural Net' using newsgroups or bulletin board system (BBS), one of several internet facilities, as a means of timisferring agricultural information. The project expects that the Rural Net will help rural people access to agricultural information which is more reliable and help them in making better decision in agriculture (ITRD, 1996).
